Ms. Wagner brings expertise to The CommLaw Group in the area of technology licensing, including the marketing, distribution and development agreements and related intellectual property transactions. Ms. Wagner is also experienced in the area of global trademark and copyright management, including U.S. and non-U.S. prosecution, maintenance, searching, clearance and enforcement of IP rights. Throughout her career, she has provided strategic business assessment on IP rights to leading entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, financial service organizations, noted research institutions and private and public companies in all major technology fields.
Ms. Wagner currently focuses on the consultation of copyright, trademark, design patents, licensing, Internet/E-commerce matters and related business torts such as unfair competition, rights of publicity, and false advertising.
A graduate of the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, Ms. Wagner double majored in History and Communications. She received her Juris Doctor at the George Mason University School of Law. Ms. Wagner also served as the Publications Editor for the George Mason University Civil Rights Law Review. Following law school, Ms. Wagner served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable F. Bruce Bach, Chief Judge of the 19th Circuit in Virginia. While clerking, Ms. Wagner worked on a variety of state civil and criminal matters.
Upon the conclusion of her clerkship, Ms. Wagner joined the Tysons Corner office of Virginia’s largest law firm, McGuire Woods. At McGuire Woods, Ms. Wagner worked on complex commercial litigation issues, including such areas as contracts, commercial transactions, fraud, trade secrets, civil conspiracy, trademark infringement and securities litigation. Prior to joining The CommLaw Group, Ms. Wagner worked for a Silicon Valley firm with a national presence in the converging worlds of high-technology, high-finance and high-stakes litigation.
